Vancouver-based Artist Madelyn Read Brings "Concrete Country" to the The Coach

Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Madelyn Read, known for her unique blend of urban folk/Americana, is bringing her captivating sound to the UK this fall. Her tour includes a highly anticipated performance at the Coach & Horses in Dumfries on October 11th.

Read's music seamlessly weaves together the rustic charm of folk and Americana with the vibrant energy of her urban upbringing. Her latest album, "Concrete Country," is a poignant exploration of life in a 21st-century North American city, evoking the imagery of a cross-country train journey culminating in a bustling downtown core.

"Though I grew up in Vancouver, my heart has always been drawn to the storytelling tradition of folk and Americana music," says Read. " 'Concrete Country' reflects that duality, exploring both the love and frustration of navigating city life."

Read's musical journey took a significant turn in 2019 when she collaborated with Louise Burns of Lillix on the track "How Easy." This experience further solidified her unique sound and paved the way for the creation of "Concrete Country."

Joining Read on tour is the exceptionally talented Madeleine Elkins, a guitarist, singer, and banjoist known for her versatility across folk, jazz, indie, and more. Elkins' dynamic range, from gritty slide guitar solos to crisp bluegrass licks, adds a rich texture to Read's coastal Canadiana sound.

Don't miss Madelyn Read's performance at the Coach & Horses in Dumfries on October 11th. It's a chance to experience the magic of "Concrete Country" live.
