Can a good cup of coffee turn a bad day around?

We Brits are known for our love of tea, but it seems our friends across the pond have a serious passion for coffee too! A recent survey found that over half of Americans believe a good cup of coffee is so powerful it can turn even their worst days around.

On the flip side, getting that morning brew wrong can be disastrous – a third of those surveyed said their entire day could be ruined by a bad cup. Some coffee lovers are so in tune with their caffeine fix, they can tell if their order's been messed up just by the taste or appearance! And get this – one in five even claimed having fresh coffee is "better than sex"!

Hot or Cold? How Americans Take Their Coffee

The survey also dug into how people like their coffee served. Hot coffee drinkers prefer to keep it simple, while iced coffee fans love to customise every detail, from the bean type to the brewing method. But one thing everyone agrees on? The perfect cup is a medium roast with a bold, earthy, and chocolatey flavour.

When it comes to additions, iced coffee drinkers are more likely to reach for sweeteners and creamers. Popular flavours include classic vanilla and caramel, along with more indulgent options like caramel macchiato, hazelnut, and white chocolate mocha. Dessert-inspired flavours are also gaining popularity, with sweet cream, pumpkin spice, and peppermint mocha all getting a mention.

Home Brew or Café Culture?

Most Americans still prefer making their coffee at home, but a decent number enjoy the café experience or are happy with either, as long as they get their caffeine hit!

Coffee: More Than Just a Drink?

So, is coffee really that powerful? It certainly seems to have a big impact on our American cousins. Whether it's the ritual of making it, the social aspect of sharing a cup, or simply the caffeine kick, there's no denying that coffee is more than just a drink for many people. It's a mood-booster, a day-saver, and maybe even a bit of a love affair!
